What is a PAC?

The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is the "officially recognized collective voice of parents of their school". PAC members are elected officers who "may advise the school board, the principal and staff of the school respecting any matter relating to the education of the students and the school".

The responsibilities of the PAC include (but are not limited to):

  • providing opportunities to educate and inform parents about the school

  • involving parents in volunteer activities

  • openly discussing parents’ concerns and aspirations for their schools

When are PAC meetings held?

Typically, PAC meetings are held in the first week of every month at 6 PM in the school library. Free childcare is available across the hall. Meetings are not held on Friday evenings. A large banner will be posted outside of the school on the morning of each PAC meeting.
