Global Cultures Spotlight Days

✨ DLG PAC Presents: Global Cultures Spotlight Days!
We would like to extend a huge thank you to Mikhail Morris & Ajay Musodi, who delivered an incredible interactive "African-Caribbean Cultural Dance Experience" (May 2025) for our staff and students to kickstart this initiative!

This year, we have been more focused on embracing culture, inclusion, and shared learning experiences. The DLG PAC hopes to bring our community even closer together through series of celebrations filled with interactive and educational cultural experiences, music, dance, and world traditions! These events will be held during school hours, so every student can take part. Our next spotlight will be Indigenous Dance & Culture and we hope to align this with Reconciliation Day in September. Thank you to the Vancouver Rotary Club for donating $400 towards this next event already!

Join us for an energetic and educational collaboration between Mikhail Morris (Jamaican cultural ambassador and owner of Ketch Di Vybz Production Company) and Ajay Musodi (actor, youth educator, and choreographer from Studio North)!

Read more about the African-Caribbean Cultural Dance Experience below. . .

"Our program blends the heart of Jamaica and the Congo, bringing students a unique and fun-filled experience where movement, rhythm, and storytelling come to life. Rooted in African and Caribbean traditions, our sessions explore the rich cultural heritage of both regions through music, movement, and interactive learning. From the energetic beats of Jamaican Dancehall and folk traditions to the dynamic expressions of Congolese Ndombolo and traditional African rhythms, students will develop coordination, confidence, and a deep appreciation for cultural diversity.

This program is all about having fun, building confidence, and celebrating diversity while learning through movement. We create a safe, inclusive, and playful space where kids can laugh, express themselves, and dance together—all while discovering the beauty of African and Caribbean cultures.

Through engaging activities, storytelling, and rhythm-based exercises, we encourage creativity, self-expression, and a sense of community, making learning fun and immersive. We can’t wait to inspire young minds, spark curiosity, and fill the room with joy and movement!"
